If you’re looking for a salon that truly understands curly and tightly coiled hair, you’re in the right place.
Your first visit begins with a New Client Consultation—a personalized session where we assess your hair, discuss styles and goals, and address any concerns.
All Consultations include a Wash; clients must also select from our styling add-on menu, which will complete the service.
At this time, silk presses are reserved for returning clients only.

SALON POLICIESWE ARE A TEAM BASED SALONOur salon takes a team-based approach, so you benefit from the expertise of multiple stylists during your visit. One may handle your wash, another may focus on treatments or prep, and another will bring your look to life with the final style or cut.
By working together, we make sure every strand is cared for with the highest level of attention.
FOR nEW CLIENTSAll new clients must book a consultation first before they can book other services. If you try to skip this step, your appointment may be cancelled or moved.
THE LEARNING CHAIRThe Learning Chair offers lower-priced hair services like washes, treatments, and simple styles on certain days. It gives students a chance to practice their skills on real clients.
Anyone can book an appointment, including new clients, through The Learning Chair calendar.
PAYMENTS & FEESTo book an appointment with us, you will need to have a card on file or pay a deposit. Please note that the deposit cannot be refunded.
FORMS OF PAYMENTWe accept card payments for all services. New York State sales tax will be added to your total bill for all services and products. If you'd like to leave a cash tip for your stylist, please bring exact change.
SPECIAL FEESPlease come to your appointment with your hair fully detangled and separated as much as possible so we can start on time. If your hair needs extra work due to thickness, length, or tangling, an extra fee will be added.
These fees can range from $15 to $50 depending on the condition of your hair when you arrive. Feel free to email us before your appointment if you have questions about possible extra fees.
LATENESSWe allow a 10-minute grace period if you are running late. After that, a late fee will automatically be added to your bill — even if you are just one or two minutes past the 10-minute mark.

$15 for arriving more than 10 mins late
$30 for arriving 20 mins late
$40 for arriving 30 mins lateArriving late can affect your stylist and the clients after you. If you arrive too late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled so other clients are not affected.
CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULINGIf you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours ahead of time.
If you paid a deposit: Your deposit cannot be refunded. If you cancel or don't show up, it will be used as the cancellation fee. However, if you reschedule more than 24 hours before your appointment, your deposit will automatically move to your new date.
If you did not pay a deposit: If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, your card on file will be charged a $60 cancellation fee.
No Show ClientsIf you miss your appointment without letting us know, it will be marked as a no-show. Before you can book again, you will need to pay 50% of the cost of the service you missed.
In serious cases, repeated no-shows may result in being removed from our booking system based on management's judgment.
